Nissan India launches Kicks at Rs 9.55 lakh, price lower than Hyundai Creta

first_imgNissan India has launched its much awaited “Intelligent SUV” Kicks with the price starting at Rs 9,55,000 (ex-showroom). The competition in compact sports utility vehicle segment, which already features the likes of Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster, has heated up with the coming of Kicks.Nissan is offering Kicks in two petrol variants – XL and XV – and four diesel variants – XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium +.The prices (ex-showroom) for petrol variants of Kicks are:– XL – Rs 9,55,000– XV – Rs 10,95,000The prices (ex-showroom) for diesel variants of Kicks are:– XL – Rs 10,85,000– XV – Rs 12,49,000– XV Premium – Rs 13,65,000– XV Premium + – Rs 14,65,000Nissan needed to price Kicks diligently keeping the compact SUV segment leader Hyundai Creta’s price in mind in order to make a market for itself. Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs 9,99,900 lakh and Rs 15,35,373 lakh (ex-showroom) in New Delhi. By keeping Kicks in the range of Rs 9,55,000 and Rs 14,65,000 (ex-showroom), one can say that Nissan has hit the right note.The company is also providing three-year warranty, three-year 24/7 roadside assistance and three-year service and maintenance for no extra cost with Kicks. The new SUV will be available in 11 colour options.Under the hood, Kicks gets a 1.5-litre four cylinder H4K petrol engine and 1.5-litre four cylinder K9K dci diesel engine. While the petrol engine will make 106 bhp and 142 Nm, the diesel will churn out 110 bhp and 240 Nm. The petrol and diesel engines are mated to five-speed and six-speed manual transmissions, respectively.advertisementThe SUV is 4,384 mm long and 1,813 mm wide, with its height and wheelbase being 1,656 mm and 2,673 mm. Its body is designed on GRAPHENE (Gravity-philic Energy Absorption) structure, helping it absorb any impact. ABS with EBD and brake assist and dual airbags are standard across all variants.Nissan has given Kicks very bold and, as the company, claims “progressive” looks. On the outside, Kicks gets Nissan’s signature chrome V motion grill, LED projector headlamps with DRLs, LED signature lamp and floating roof with dual tone styling. The SUV also features five-spoke machined alloy wheels, roof rail, boomerang tail lamps and door-mounted ORVM with indicators.Dual-tone brown and black themed interiors, with carbon fiber finishing, welcome one inside the cabin of Nissan’s new SUV. As claimed by the company, Kicks has got some first-in-class and best-in-class features as well. The first-in-class features include leather wrapped soft-touch dashboard and door trims and automatic AC as standard across all variants. The company claims shoulder and knee room and configurable storage with 400 litres boot space in Kicks to be the best-in-class.Among other first-in-class and best-in-class features are around view monitor display 360 degree camera and floating infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The company has also provided Nissan Connect feature as standard across all variants.Also, the SUV comes in with features such as cruise control, hill start assist, cornering fog lamps, front and rear fog lamps and ECO mode.With the addition of Kicks to the compact SUV segment, which also features the likes Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster apart from Hyundai Creta, buyers will have their fair-share of quota to select from.
