Electric Forest Brings Back Her Forest Program To Connect Women Attendees

first_imgAfter a successful launch last year, Electric Forest will be bringing back the Her Forest Program, a cohesive series of events and options meant to build community among the women attendees of the festival this year. The program’s activities are open to people who identify as women and focus on three main themes: connection, inspiration, and comfort.During the first weekend, the festival will host the Her Forest curated events, which will feature up-and-coming women dancers, artists, musicians, and DJs. With applications open to apply, women from around the country will be chosen to be added to this year’s line-up. Women-only camping will be available within the larger GA camping grounds during the event as well. With an emphasis on community building while also creating a comfortable and safe space for women who might attending the festival alone, both weekends will feature this camping option, though spots are limited. Finally, 2017 will see the return of the Her Forest women’s panel. Last year, the panel was entitled Women: Game Changers in Creativity Panel and featured Alana Rocklin (STS9),Dessa (Doomtree), Miranda Zickler (Rabbit Wilde), Alicia Karlin (Madison House Presents Talent Buyer), Nova Han (Electric Forest 2016 Art Director), and host Kiki Federico. This year, Her Forest will be assembling a new panel for the second weekend, bringing together female artists and industry-insiders to talk about their experiences. You can listen to last year’s panel below, courtesy of the festival. Finally, the Her Forest program will be running a variety of meet-ups and circles throughout both weekends, giving ladies a chance to meet one another, make new connections, and build community. Tour de France start from Copenhagen delayed from 2021 to 2022: Mayor

first_imgThe planned start of the Tour de France from Copenhagen, scheduled for 2021, has been pushed back to 2022 to avoid an overlap of sporting events disrupted by COVID-19, the city’s mayor said Monday. The postponement would avoid a clash with the Tokyo Olympics and the European football championship, for which Copenhagen is one of the host cities, according to a statement from the Danish organizers.”I’m glad that we managed to secure a Danish start of the Tour in 2022. We are many who have looked forward to getting Tour de France in Denmark next year, and now we unfortunately have to wait a little longer,” Copenhagen mayor Frank Jensen said. After being unable to agree on a starting date for 2021, the race’s organizer, Amaury Sport Organization, offered to postpone the Danish start until 2022, which the Danish organizers agreed to.The three Danish legs, starting in Copenhagen followed by two legs crossing the country, will be held on July 1-3 2022.The Danish organizers didn’t expect any changes to the planned routes, but according to the statement they would now begin talks with the eight municipalities that the race would cross.”There is full support for the postponement from the five Danish finish and starting cities,” the statement said.
